Sharon Christie Law: Your Social Security Disability Lawyer
Apply for Disability Benefits with a Trusted Social Security Disability Lawyer
According to a recent study published by the Social Security Administration, 57% of all initial applicants are denied Social Security Disability Benefits. Meaning it is much harder now than at any other point in the past to be awarded disability benefits. However in the same study, the Social Security Administration states that people who were represented by a Social Security Disability Lawyer were 3x more likely to win their case as the people who were not represented by a Disability Lawyer. This study shows just how important it is to hire a lawyer, because he or she will give you the best chance possible to win your case.

Frequently Asked Questions About Sharon Christie Law
Are you a licensed attorney?
Yes, I am licensed in Maryland and Washington, DC. However, because Social Security disability is a federal program I can handle cases anywhere in the country.
What is your approach to the Social Security Disability Application Process?
We can file the application with you. We file it online.
Where is your office located?
Our office is in Hunt Valley, Maryland but we handle cases throughout the country, especially in the mid-Atlantic region.
I am not from Maryland, will you take my case?
Yes! If your case meets our criteria for acceptance we can take your case.
How do you charge for attorney fees & costs?
We handle these cases on a contingent fee basis. That meant we only get paid a fee if we win the case. The fee is a percentage of any retroactive benefits you receive. The fee is 25% of those benefits but the amount is capped by the Social Security Administration at $6000. If we don’t win your case then you pay no attorneys fees. If we win your case we will ask you to reimburse us for the costs of getting your medical evidence. Those costs generally range from about $220-$500, depending on the volume of records we need for the case.
How frequently do you meet with your clients?
We can do most of our work with you over the phone. When you call our office you will first talk to an intake specialist. She will get all of the information we need to evaluate your case. If we can accept your case your intake specialist will schedule an appointment with your paralegal to file your application or your appeal or to contact Social Security with you to confirm the status of your case, whatever is needed. She will also schedule a phone appointment with Sharon to discuss your case in detail. As your case moves forward, most of your contact will be with your paralegal, but you can schedule an appointment to talk to Sharon at any time.
